Are you feeling stuck?
It can feel like a big decision to come into counselling - some issues feel too big and others too small.
My name is Jess Warner, and as a qualified and experienced BACP registered Humanistic Counsellor, I create a safe, non-judgemental space to explore whatever your issue may be. I can support you to take positive steps to move on from that feeling of stuckness. Read more about my approach here.
Key areas I work with include:
As a full member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I abide by their code of ethics.
“From the very beginning of our counselling relationship Jess made me feel extremely at ease by unconsciously portraying a trustworthy nature, allowing me to be fully open and honest so getting the most from the experience right from the start. I found myself talking about aspects that I never imagined I would, all due to Jess's non-judgemental approach, making me feel very comfortable about sharing information.
Jess helped me to explore my thoughts but also gently encouraged me to dig deeper than just what I was thinking, delving into and exploring the feelings underneath these thoughts. She challenged me to expose these feelings to then be able to understand more of myself and what was primarily making me feel 'stuck'. She helped me uncover these feelings, unravel them and release them. All of this she did whilst supporting me to be kind to myself.
Jess's approach with me was such a positive experience and I would thoroughly recommend her as a counsellor to anyone contemplating this route to finding help and support in challenging and maybe difficult times”
“I can honestly say that working with Jess has transformed my life. Therapy can be hard, but with Jess’s encouragement I have also found it greatly rewarding. Not only did she help me to navigate my way through times of difficulty, but she also encouraged me to set a foundation for ongoing introspection and self-awareness. These skills have been invaluable to me across many aspects of my personal and professional life, allowing me to establish an independent sense of emotional balance. I would highly recommend her as a therapist and I am entirely grateful for all of the support she has given me throughout our time together and beyond.”
“Starting therapy with Jess is one of the best decisions I have ever made. She is extremely understanding and compassionate in her approach to counselling. I always felt like I had a safe space to talk about the things that were on my mind. She is extraordinarily insightful and her reflections on things I was speaking about helped me understand my behaviours and relationships in a new way. Working with Jess has helped me reframe situations and my reactions to them. For me, this was such a positive experience and has helped me in ways I never thought it would. I honestly am so grateful to have been fortunate enough to get the chance to work with Jess on these things and I couldn't recommend her enough”
"I was going through some tough times in my life when I finally decided to contact The Awareness Centre where they recommended Jess to me and it was a pleasure to have such an excellent counsellor which helped me so much with dealing with lots of my feelings and emotions. I strongly recommend Jess. I felt very comfortable and pleased with her professional help. I can definitely say out loud '100% satisfied' and will definitely contact her again if I ever find myself lost again. Thank you Jess."
